Hey guys. If I should post this in another forum... let me know.

One of my other hobbies (besides restoring and collecting arcades) is velvet paintings.

I've painted many many velvet masterpieces (usually... weird commissions) and I am thinking of doing a series of arcade related paintings next.

I am currently working on a TRON velvet painting that is black light reactive. I should have pics by this weekend (I'll put it up for sale here when I am done)

I usually pull about $100 shipped per painting. I'd also be willing to trade for parts I need :) They are typically 18x24 acrylic on velveteen (it paints better)and they are shipped mounted without frames I can make bigger paintings for a bit more, and I can also supply frames for a bit more too.

They will make awesome gameroom decorations... especially if you have black lights in your game room... though they would look great in regular light as well. (For example... the centipede side art would look awesome in UV reactive paint under black light)

I'll attach pics of my non-arcade related work...

Would anyone here be interested in a super classy arcade related velvet painting?

Just putting feelers out.

This one was purchased by The Velveteria... the velvet painting museum that used to be in pdx.

They had it in their MJ tribute section after he died.

Darthpunk did the velvet Bubba-ho-tep for me and all I have to say is it was amazing! I just gave him a idea and he ran with it :)

Dude, that Transformers one is cracking me up. Bumblebee is the traitor, Optimus!

That one wasn't a commission. I had a whole series of classic art parodies involving Transformers lined up in my brain... this is the only one I started/finished. I also thought I could do Picasso's Guernica using Transformers.

That won't be a velvet painting though.

these look great ! i really like the MJ.
how much are you selling them for?

Well the MJ one sold to a Velvet Painting museum for like $300.

The arcade themed ones I was going to ask for $100 shipped. But I can haggle... or trade for parts I need :)

Also... the attached pics are just samples of my past work. All of those have been sold.

I am going t finish up the Tron painting this weekend and post it here... Then I'll see if anyone wants to commission other paintings.

Hey Jeremy, those look awesome. I'm kind of a "less is more" guy when it comes to decorating but if I can think of a good one for my game room (or if you can think of a good idea for me next time you visit) I'd be interested. Might be a while though, since right now my wife would laugh at my request given how much I've been spending on games lately. :)

You ought to post a link to this thread in the PAC group since some of those guys might miss this otherwise (I missed it until just now).

I had planned on posting to the PAC guys... but I totally spaced it till you reminded me just now.

I have a few ideas floating around in my head. Some side art I think would look terriffic on velvet... especially with UV paint. Centipede, Major Havoc, Wizard of Wor...

Man, those are awesome! I love kitsch. I actually have a "Dogs Playing Poker" and a weird-wooden-framed 'Jumpsuit Elvis' in my office at work. :D

Seems funny to me, anyway. Having bad art in an office where good art is supposed to be made...

I will try to think of ideas for these, if that's what you're looking for. Otherwise, depending on what game you do, might be interested...

Salvador Dali done with melty Pac Man and Ghosts would be cool...

Perhaps everybody is just waiting to see what masterpiece you make, before they decide to commit to buying it? I'm just a little shocked there isn't some interest here. That art looks great. Looking forward to see what you make, Jeremy.

Darthpunk:

Have you been to the Velveteria in Portland?

This is an interesting book for those into black velvet painting:

Velveteria Museum Book

I actually have an autographed copy of that book... and before they closed the Velveteria and moved to SoCal, I had 3 paintings on display in the museum.

Zombie Michael Jackson
Anthony Bourdain as the devil sitting on the toilet
Anderson Cooper in a thong

I'm like Norman Rockwell with a severe head injury and learning disability.
