Interest Check: 3rd + 4th player adapter or Rotary adapter for MultiJamma

Not really sure what to call it, but let's go with 3rd + 4th player adapter instead of kick harness adapter.

Basically, I had a request to add support for the 3rd + 4th player harness used in some games to my MultiRotary board shown in this thread. This will allow you to use one of the Jamma switchers without having to worry about the extra 3rd + 4th player harness. See this thread for a list of games people are talking about. You should still be able to use this as a MultiRotary board as well for those that may have missed out. You could also use it for other kick harness games as well.

You will get 2 bare PCBs and I'd guess the cost at $25 shipped. Each PCB is for one player which is why you get 2 PCBs. Sourcing and installing the parts is up to you. I'd like to get at least 7 people who are firm on sign up. I'm not sure how many I can fit on a panel so it's possible if you sign up late that you may be on the list and not make the cutoff to actually get a board. I will ask for prepayment once I"m done laying out the board so please don't ask to sign up for interest if you are a maybe.

Ideally, I'd recommend changing the connector type on the adapter PCB to a part that doesn't need to be sourced from Japan, but that's up to you guys.

I don't want to thread-jack this, but I also don't want to piss off people by *not* mentioning something I have in the works that would directly affect this and spring it on you all later.

So, just real quickly-- in order to support a multi-4 player system at Ground Kontrol, I've designed a 3/4 player (or 6-player fighting game) specific MultiJAMMA that's getting ready for testing. I've dubbed it the MultiJAMMA 4x4 (four players, four games).

It's different than my other MultiJAMMA (uses different switchboards, cables, etc) and is kinda custom tailored to play nicely with the Konami/Dataeast 3-4 Player games. (It supports a pseudo 'freeplay' setting, single coin counter, ability to swap buttons 1&2 for fire&jump on a per board basis, up to 16 extra signals for six-button fighting games, etc.)

Anyway, after it gets some good burn-in time at Ground Kontrol I'll make it available for sale if people want it. Probably be fall or so-- I still need to finish the firmware for the switchboards and my schedule is, as always, overbooked.

I'd buy two boards.

I also support using a cheap pin header to connect the harnesses.

Clay's 4x4 MultiJAMMA sounds nice, but I probably wouldn't spend the extra for the switching capability, as my cabinet is set up to swap the JAMMA connector (one board powered on at a time).

Sounds like you have something pretty cool in the works there Clay! Always happy to help beta test new products. Just sayin'... :D

In the meantime, I think I'll go head grab the 3p/4p multi-board.

Did you ever make another run of the multi-rotary boards btw? Never did get in on that one (and I have almost every rotary board out there so it would be nice to have).

This is basically the next run for the multirotary. Let me know if you are interested.

Well I don't care about the 3/4 player deal (only skimmed that part, sorry), but, yes, please put me down for the next run/incarnation (quantity 1x). Just let me know when/where to send payment and how much.

I was confused at first thinking the rotary switch was for switching the games like this:

2TPW9_AS01

Then I realized you were talking about rotary joysticks. :D

Yeah, I wasn't sure what to call it and the thread title was crappy as well. Basically this:

attachment.php

It can be used for the 3rd and 4th player harness, a multirotary game harness, or a kick harness.

I believe I'm counting 4 sets so far. 3 more to go.

I would be very interested in this. Sorry for bumping an older post but I just joined today and this was my main reason for joining.

I have a 4 player Simpson's and a 4 Player TMNT Turtles in time boards that I would love to have in one machine.

that sounds exactly like what I am looking for.

So the main.cabinet harness would plug into thia board and you would just have to buy a few kick harnesses and run them from.this board.to each indivdual game boarsa in the mutl jamma?

is this forgotten about or is this moving forward?

Not forgotten about, but it needs a minimum amount of interest for me to run the boards. I'm not sure if the interest is there yet and it is hard to tell who is interested in a few of the posts.
