Finally getting some free time again with the new kid, so Im looking at uses to justify getting a larger, higher end printer than I have now. In order to fund it, I thought id see if there was any interest here in 3d printed parts. I have the capability to scan to model existing parts, and if needed (though not cheap) access to 3d mechanical engineers who can model up components.

As a start, I can offer parts from sites like thingiverse, where many of them are creative commons licensed with commercial use allowed.

I currently have the following filaments, and can got more colors / materials if there is enough interest wo warrant it;
PLA Natural
PLA Glow in the Dark
PLA Teal Blue
PLA Aluminum Blend
PLA Wood Blend
ABS Natural
ABS Black
ABS Glow in the Dark
Nylon 910
Petg Natural (translucent)
Ninjaflex (nightmare to work with on my current machine, so small prints only)

I have a roll of flame resistant polycarbonate on the way as well. Havnt tried to print with it yet though.

As for pricing, id aim to beat the price of places like shapeways and thingiverse's printing services. Im not looking to make a business out of it, just help carry the cost of a better printer.

I can currently print 6inx6inx8in roughly.

If there is any interest, ill put together a listing of the models I can get currently, and scan in a few compoents I have (like spinner knobs, top button joysticks, ect) and put together a suggested price list / print resolution. Also for the abs, I can acetone polish if desired.

If you can design something here's an idea:
Something that sits behind the coin reject button on a coin door that houses a microswitch for coining up (and a bulb and LED).

Thats an interesting thought, could use it myself on some of my games that dont have freeplay. I guess the question would come down to how to make it compatible with more than just a couple coin doors. Ill try to sketch one up for a couple styles I have and see how it goes.

There are coinco plastic "wishbone" pieces used in the coin return that are scarce to non-existent. If you produced exact copies of the scarce ones, I'd bet you'd find a nice market.

Yep, similar to that anyway. That one is either broken at the bottom or a part for a different coin door. The ones I've got are more of a full wishbone.

I can take a picture at some point but KLOV wasn't letting me upload anything the last time I tried.

Don't know how durable the filaments would be for these, but components for Atari logo joysticks would be great. Pivot ball, plunger, actuator...it's be great to not have to pay $15-20 a pop for those tiny things!
