I want to perform an exercise in social psychology

Im going to put some stuff in a box, nothing of exceptional value, but still stuff I cant bring myself to throw away, trying to keep it arcade related.

Im going to mail this box to a fellow KLOVr

They take something out that they can use, and put something back in the box they think someone else might need

Mail it to the next KLOVr

A few simple rules
1. Nothing ILLEGAL, (Frizz/Phet) Im looking at YOU ;)
2. Document what you take out/put in
3. Make sure the next person in line is ready for the box and still wants to participate.

A few notable items I started with

Pacman speed up ROM
Midway coin door parts
Random pinball rubbers
Box of 555 lamps
iPod dock and charger
USB-USB cable
N64 rumble pack
Fzero X (N64 game)
Breadboard/resistors/button assembly
Dremel bits

Im down! Sign me up.

Anybody want some crackers? They only touched the ground for a second, so by the 10-second rule, youre golden! :D :p

Sounds like fun... except that you're paying to ship stuff that has very little value, that the next person may only want one or two things out of, and then pays to ship that same crap that they didn't want that the next person probably won't want either :p .

Whats it gonna cost? 3-4 bucks? No big deal. Thats cheap fun :D

Interesting idea. You should put yourself on the list after every 10 or 20 people so by then there will be all or mostly new stuff in the box.

The ultimate White Elephant game! :D

I'm in, as long as the box doesn't become excessively heavy / expensive to ship... Are we going to have a "Use a flat rate box only" rule of any sort?

It might be nice if there were some rules. Such as the sum of all the items may not be larger than would fit in a large flat rate box. And possibly for each item someone removes an item must be put in it's place. Honestly it might not be a bad idea to post in a thread each time someone receives the box and list it's contents so people can PM that they want it next. That way the person getting it knows there's something in there they want. this should help avoid the scenario where someone gets the box only to have no use for what's in it.

Thats prob a real good idea...I havent been to the post office yet but have everything crammed in a SMALL box, with no room for other stuff, I will put it all in a BIGGER flat rate box and fill with packing material and should have this project started by the weekend...

Don't ask me why, but this thread's title made me think of a song by the Guerillas where they say "I got sunshine, in a bag......." :D
