alrighty, attempting a MAME/Jamma setup, already have controls going to pc through an ipac and I want the ability to use the same controls wired to a jamma harness. at first I thought to just have them wired for both so a button press would activate on the ipac and the jamma at the same time, but now I think it would be preferable to have all the common controls on a switchbox and switch between with the push of a button. so now I'm wondering if such a thing exists, a 25 or so input box that will switch between two outputs. (so 25 inputs and 50 outputs, 25 on A, 25 on B)

does this exist?

think i may have found a good solution, there are lots of cheap seriel switchboxes out there, db25, so 25 inputs should work. anyone tried something like this?

Just make sure the box switches all 25 pins. Some of the cheaper ones just did the bare minimum for serial connections.

The jpac would have been a better choice than the ipac. It plugs into the jamma harness just like a game pcb.

Yeah if you're going to switch, then use a parallel switchbox that does all the lines. Unfortunately I dont' think either will since there's several grounds on both serial and parallel lines.

Another possibility - why not just switch the grounds and use diodes on them?
