It's not every day I feel compelled to drop some quarters into a new release, but this one I couldn't resist.

Full Motion Initial D Version 4 w/ 1:1 scale cars (complete with Dunlap tires).

Much different than the one we have listed in KLOV: http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=17241

I'd really like one of these, except I don't have the space nor do I want to imagine what they go for.

See the photos.

Right next to the Storm G motion: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=189229

They actually threatened to throw me out for taking photos of the operators control panel.

Holy shit.....How many quarters??

A lot of quarters...

It came out to $6.75 for basically a 5 minute game.

That looks awesome. How was the gameplay?

I really enjoyed it. Nice modern driving game + motion + full size car sets the mood. You could choose between a Toyota Apex, a Subaru WRX, or a Nissan GTR Vspec II. The Nissan was everyone's favorite. For whatever reason it had better motion than the other two.

I actually took a video of someone else playing it and the car is bouncing around pretty well. I'll post it when I get a chance.

I bet only a half dozen of these ever see North American soil, if that. :(

Holy hell, I thought that was just a one time thing they had setup in Japan (Japanese auto show, if I'm not mistaken). I didn't know they had any on location, let alone in America

Do you know where any others are? I must play this game!

closest thing I've ever come close to this was the NASCAR video game. They left the area as there aren't as many fans in NY as the rest of the country.

I never said it was in North America. I just came back from Dubai. I'm about to post a Dubai thread :)

BTW I edited my orig post because I remembered what the game cost (I must have been trying to put it out of my mind). $6.75 for about 5 minutes.

I've got one. Have anything good to trade?

The owner is already in contact with me, and he says the game wasn't abandoned.

Funspot in NH has four of them linked. Pic is from 2008 but it's very likely they are still there. I know central NH isn't exactly next door, but it's still in your region and worth a trip. :)

EDIT: Just realized you were probably talking about a full size car cabinet. These are still mega fun though. :)

im a huge fan of initial d, love the anime series and the video games, the initial d is up to stage 5 in the arcades now lol, 4 has been out for some time but compared to the originals it kinda strayed from the feeling and felt like your on ice, the new stage 5 is aparently a lot closer to drifting then the previous. I love stage 3 though..

I'm sorry, but that is just DAMN funny! Too bad most people will never see, or get, this.

The "NASCAR" games that they were referring to are NOT the Global VR games that images were posted about. There used to be mall locations dedicated to simulating NASCAR with small scale versions of cars running a PC based simulation with the images being projected onto a screen in front of the moving cockpit that you sit inside of. Instead of using an LCD or rear projection display, they used CRT's not unlike what was used in the Galaxian 3 theater setups. I don't understand why anyone on here would be looking to BUY one of these when A) it will be WAY overpriced and B) you can build your own setup for a much more "reasonable" cost...
