I appreciate seeing this stuff posted here. The questions about the router are fair. Questioning the price and calling it a paperweight is not. Bringing up pirated nes roms is ludacrous. Lets not run off new sellers with unwarranted attacks.
The astro citys on your site look nice. Good luck with the new venture.
Eh, I probably could've done without the comment on price, but it is indeed a paperweight unless the buyer just happens to know the right group of people who deal with gray area software. Which being KLOV and not AP or SOWS or an number of Discords, most people here do not. And it's in their best interest to have it very blatantly stated that these games cannot be played as purchased, especially when the seller seems intent on not doing so themself...
It comes off very deceptive to state that they're in working order or whatever despite the game not being playable.
If the machine doesn't work without connection to a server and presumably the connection to said server probably requires a subscription payment to Sega then I would say that running it without that could be classified as a misuse of IP.
You're not wrong, but how many JAMMA PCBs do you see on here that boot up saying "Not for use outside of Japan"? It is, for whatever reason, not really a concern for 98% of people in the arcade community.
I don't think he is right. It is not unreasonable to request that he back his claims up. I have never seen a post advertising what he describes up thread.
Use an account that isn't your importer account (because you're the competition) and reach out to either of the big importers and ask about a Bemani cab or whatever and if you can play it offline. Advertised publicly: they absolutely will not. Will they immediately tell you you can play it offline and they'll have already handled it: absolutely yes.
Put this in perspective: You are selling games.
The games don't currently work.
You are asking a princely price for the games.
We're giving eye-rolls because of the above, and your snarky responses.
You are a low message member, and not a regular in the community, contributing and helping. That makes us suspect your motives, right off the get go.
All of this. Along with doubling and tripling down on "operable" despite you not being able to operate said games in their intended manner...
but in most cases candy cabs do not come with a PCB. Astro Cities which shipped with Dottori Kun are an exception but it's very rare to buy one in Japan currently that still has it.
You're comparing apples and oranges here. JAMMA and JVS candy cabs are meant to have games swapped out, and in 95% of cases didn't come from the factory with games even. ID cabs, SDVX, IIDX, whatever all are intent on only playing the one game, ship from the factory with it installed, and in this case your one game cannot be played without more hardware and someone who's willing to help with the software.
