No way I can afford one right now, but I've often considered it and just wondered... how does it fare in a home environment, technically?
What I mean by this is that I'm concerned about the nature of the game. It uses a card reader that lets you save, but once a card is used 50 times it is nullified. This means there need to be at least a few extra cards, but as far as I know, there is no where to get these to load the reader with. What do most do? Just go out to one on location and get a card to use at home? Doesn't that mess with the idea of everyone who plays at your arcade getting their own? I know you can buy packs of these somewhere, but I haven't the slightest clue where.
Also, I know that it's meant to be a money sucker (usually a dollar a race, two dollars for a card, occasionally both of those are halved)... is there any free play, and if so, any way to buy cards on... freeplay? I know that sounds weird, but it wouldn't make much sense to have free play if the cards still had to be purchased.
Also, anyone have one of these? Just curious.
