I wanted to see if anyone out there had information on the Well Gardner k4500 besides schematics. I recently bought a Galaxian cabinet that has one of these in it, and I could use some help on adjusting settings. This particular chassis seems to have a lot of knobs to mess with. I got the convergence looking better this weekend and had to tweak no less than 16 pots on the neck board along with the 2 purity rings.

If I were to start somewhere, I would be interested if anyone knows about the various adjustments on the chassis itself. The chassis has a small auxiliary board that has a switch and 9 pots. So far, only one pot seems to do anything for me (the vert hold, I think). There is also a standalone pot above the flyback that seems to have no effect. If anyone is interested, there is a picture here: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/k4500.html (thanks, ieure for the link). I would be really grateful if someone could help shed some light on these control for me!

Thanks!

I've had several of them, and man none of those controls seem to do anything on any of them. Remember that's basically a modified television, so it has a bunch of parts that don't seem to be hooked up.

Good luck, I never was able to get one to look good enough to use. That was basically wells' first raster arcade monitor.

That's good background. Maybe only the VHold adjustment is supposed to work on that small auxiliary board.

So I have decided to try a cap kit on the WG k4500. Any suggestions on where I could find a cap map for the chassis? I did a cap job on the Sanyo EZV last weekend in a Donkey Kong I picked up and was happy enough with the improvement to give the k4500 a try. The cap map was really helpful to narrow in on the locations.
