Hi,

I've got a Midway space invaders to restore,

Which is the brand of the monitor inside the midway space invaders?

(Eletrohome G07)?

Where I can get it recapped or just the chassis in case?

Let me know

Thanks

Mavrk

the old original monitor shoudl be a BLACK AND WHITE motorola monitor with colored translucent overlays on top of the tube...

i have heard of folks using tvs or regular color arcade monitors, but like most of the folks i prefer to fix what was there originally, if possible.

Remember, B+W games simply used a composite video signal (technically just a Luma signal with sync on the same wire + a ground wire), so you can take any old B+W TV and a RF modulator and make a realistic B+W arcade monitor. You may want to hack the TV to find the place to feed in the signal directly for better quality without RF conversion.

If you want to use a color monitor, just tie the 5 inputs together: R+G+B + HSYNC+VSYNC and feed it the line from the board. It won't look the same as a B+W tube but will give a close simulation. But at that point, just drop in a color TV with a composite video input as that's all you need.

Dammit. I hate when people post the same damn thing in two different sections.

Well, I already answered this in the other one, and I'm not about to retype the whole thing here (with pictures), so you can go look there...
