Hi everybody.

Last year our Hyper Bishi Bashi refused to work with an error msg.

I bought a HBB-board in Asia (a german arcade friend helped) and received it yesterday. It looks completely different, has a CD built in and some kind of module with the game. It runs perfectly on my Jamma-cab but it'sonly in japan and it is for two players only. We have e 3-player-cab.

There's a connector on the game module...is it possible to connect third-player-controls there?

So I'm searching for a manual for the Konami System 573. Anything available??

Thanks :)

Let me tell the whole story plus more information I have gathered meanwhile.

We have a Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ (3 Players, english language) that stopped working one day with the message "hardware unmatched". We started to look for information and some day we found out that the RTC(Real time clock)-battery was empty. We replaced the whole RTC but the error message remained. We continued our search. I bought a 2nd board from Asia. It had alle the stuff you expect from a System 573. A CD-Drive with the CD and a matcvhing security cartridge...a blue module stuck inside the mobo. I attached it to my Jamma-cab and indeed it was Hyper Bishi bashi...but in Japanese and for two players only. We did a big mistake thinking our game was lost and we tried to re-flash our board with the game I purchased....it worked...and now the game on our board is lost. The Mame-Team would have been able to extract the game code from our board but now it's gone and, to make it even worse, it has never been dumped before

All we would have needed to do after replacing the RTC is to press the test-button and the service-button behind the coindoor to re-initialize the game :-(

I'd like to collect more and more information about that system so there is information to be found when someone needs it.

If YOU know anything about it and you think it is worth to be said here feel free to post

never heard of that game. also, which 573 set is it, is it the older analog one or the digital one?

we have two 573 digital games, DDR Extreme (was originally DDR USA, then upgraded to DDRMAX2 by previous owners, upgraded to Extreme by me) and Dance Maniax 2nd Mix.

what all did you want to know? and I agree, there's hardly any resources out there on these. I had to go through some trial and error shit to help another user out to figure out what one of the connectors did!

while on the subject, I did a Flash ROM test on DDR and a couple of the entries came up BAD, what does this mean? that's not the blue security cartridge, but the PCMCIA slot card right?

Wow, this finally lasted 2 years.

To our great pleasure, Guru from the Mame-dev-team was able to save the game. He also repaired our two boards (we bought a 2nd cab with the same problem but without two idiots flashing the game to hell :-/ ). Now there are two working boards in two working cabs.

PLUS the game is now available in Mame!

THANKS Guru! :)
