i just took a piece of 16 gauge sheet metal (14 gauge is probably better, but tractor supply didnt have 14 gauge). i had then clamped the sheet metal with a piece of wood on top and bottom, heated with a propane torch to get a 90degree bend. then i had a piece of wood that was already routered to the contour of the bend, so i stacked the wood inside the steel and clamped the control panel again (with the control panel currently parallel to the ground but after the bend it will be perpendicular). slowly i heated the steel from the bottom of the control panel (about an inch from where i just made the 90 degree bend) and used a small 2x3 to put even pressure on the control panel as it heated up and made the bend. after it was all cooled, i took some scrap and made two brackets for the clamps to grab on to. i welded those brackets and viola! i am done.
works great and most people probably wouldnt think it was home made, especially if i put an overlay on it - but right now its just spray painted.
i did mount the joystick the wrong way, so i just switched the wires. total cost was about $12. perfect for the indy an i didnt have to hack up my roadblasters cp.
