Are there any decent System 1 games out there? I ask as there is an Indiana Jones that has come up locally... painted black sides... plays blind. Dude is asking too much for it, but I might be able to get him down in price... but I've actually NEVER played Indy.

Maybe it's time to bust out some System 1 games in MAME.

Isn't Marble Madness a System 1 game? I'd think it would get old though.

What would YOU pay for an Indy with black sides in solid shape playing blind?

Id give him a Benjamin. Or 5 Jacksons if you want your offer to 'appear' more convincing.

$100. Notice a trend on non-working games here? ;) IMO, Indy was a really fun game. Never got in to Marble Madness like many others seem to have.

Indy is a fun game and the System 1 boards are easy to swap in and out. Marble Madness is a Sys1 game (DJDNS has a kit if interested).

As for price... the IJ board alone just sold for $100 and a good condition control panel fetches about the same.

By the way, I love my Indy!

Ijtod

Nice working ones go for between 350 and 450. Working with no side art take off 75 or so. Non working and unable to verify the board for image glitches.....100$. Probably a G07 in it by the way.

To me Indy is the best but I'm biased....

My order....
Indy
Marble Madness
Roadblasters
Peter Pack Rat
Roadrunner

I would offer $100 maybe a little bit more depending on the cp......

Keep in mind that a Marble Madness kit ain't cheap.

I have some Roadblasters parts I could send your way cheap. Phoenix Arcade has screen printed sideart for System 1 too.

System 1

I have a fully restored System 1 cabinet and I've been able to collect 4 of the 5 games (no Road Blaster). The games are easy swap and I think all of them are fun to play, I swap them out every few months. My favorites are Road Runner and Peter Pack Rat.

I have 3 of the 5 kits myself. PPR was always a fun one for me, and MM is actually kinda tough.

As for value, $450 working like Flynn said is about right, for our area anyway.

The beauty is like what others have said, its easy to swap stuff in and out, dont even have to move the game away from the wall. And, not unlike other games you have, in essence its a dedicated multigame.

Buy it, go through the kits, and when youre tired of it sell it, duh.

P.S.
You need a LETA chip mainboard to play MM. Its hit or miss whats in these cabs.

I like Indy and Marble a lot. I like Indy more. Plus it has that movie connection sort of like owning a Star Wars does (ok, maybe not) but the digital sound in that game is amazing for a game of that period.

I played it when it came out in the arcades. I thought it was okay, I played it for maybe a month or two and moved on. If you are planning on collecting the other boards, I could see maybe doing it, but if you are buying just this game, you might want to think about it.

I paid about $450 for mine a little less that a year ago that had new black vinyl all over and a very good CPO and marquee that worked excellent. So, I'd say nothing more than $150. If you lowball the guy too much, he'll probably just blow you off...

The kit itself, Populated CP (Atari Logo Joy), Marquee, Daughtercard will fetch $250 by itself. If you have a system 1 MB with a Leta Chip, that's worth another hondo. I've been down this road before, in fact I just talked about the progression in a recent thread. Roadblasters-->Indy--->Roadrunner--->Marble Madness. With as much as you post here Fritz, you'd think you'd have seen it.

I think I am going to pick up this cab today. Where do I look to determine if I have a LETA chip?

Really? I just fixed one...

Marble Madness rules. It is different enough than any other game to win a permanent spot for me. Make sure your trackballs are in great shape, they need to spin fast! This game alone is what owing a system 1 is all about. It's the original and the best.

I know people that get into Indy, I am not one of them. Play it in MAME and try it right?

Roadblasters is great till you drive all 50 tracks, then most people wont want to do it again.

Welp... Indy's Home

I picked Indy up... it's a project. The monitor is a G07 and about as dirty as I've ever seen. The cabinet is solid, but needs work. The control panel overlay is shot and will need to be replaced.

I check out the G07 and it's getting 116v at the AC input but I get nothing from it... not even a crackle. The large fuse looks fine, but I can't tell if the small fuse is blown or not because it's THAT caked in dirt. Luckily I have two other G07 chassis here, a couple rebuild kits and a flyback. Screen is somewhat burned unfortunately... but so are the other two G07 screens I have here (again, unfortunately). When I plug it in I get the welcome voice... but then nothing... I credit up and nothing (the credit counter goes up but that is it). If I dick around with the connectors on the motherboard eventually I start hearing creepy music stuff and voices...sounds like it's playing blind... my guess is theres a short in the harness? Not sure yet.

YES...it's a project... but I did get it off the guy for $80.00 (he actually said $75 but I only had twentys).

Oh...and the ground pin is broken off...that as usual... but this time half of one of the other pins is broken off too!

...and yes, I have the front door (AND ALL THE KEYS NO LESS!)... and the front door has the indy sheet still attached.
