Wondering if anyone out there knows what the issue might be with my POA. It tilts perfectly to the left, but doesn't tilt enough to the right. If I try to tilt it to the right, the ball will roll right into the first hole. Additionally, there's a delay when it tilts to the right. Anyone know how to correct this?

Bad flipper opto, this is a common problem on IJ.

Does it work the same in diagnostics as in gameplay?

Functions the exact same in the diagnostics test. Would replacing the flipper opto allow the mini playfield to tilt further or just fix the delay?

both. First of all, you can't trust the diagnostics test. There is a bug in the code and it reads the optos different than it does in gameplay. The best way to test this is to swap the flipper opto pcbs and see if the problem moves to the other side. If it does, you have a bad opto. If it doesn't you may have an issue up on the poa motor itself.

There are two sets of optos that control the POA motion. The first set is the ones on the flipper boards, that can be easily swapped to see if they are the issue. The second set is the limit optos that are on the limit board at the top of the playfield near the POA motor.

The diagnostic test uses the buttons inside the coin door and does not use the flipper buttons for the POA motion so if you still have the issue in diagnostics, it indicates that the optos that are on the limit board near the POA motor should be fixed. First give them a good cleaning, and re-check indiagnostics. If you still get hesitation, you may need to re-flow the solder joints on the board or replace some components.

You could swap the flipper opto PCBS and see if the problem follows the board (i.e. the POA doesn't move properly to the left)

While playing a game last night, all 3 lights on each pop bumper went out at the same time. I doubt they burned out since they all went out simultaniously, however the pop bumpers still work. It's just really dark back there now. Is there a fuse or a board that these 3 lights are connected to? I lifted up the playfield to have a look, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Any ideas?

I have the same issue with my POA. Works fine in diagnostics. Tried switching the flipper optos... No change. However, how I differ from others with this issue is that my problem is intermittent. Seems to work better when first turned on, then it starts that shaking thing it does when I try to go to the left. Goes to the right with no problem. But looks like its going too far to the right. actually hits the ramp below.

Please help

Hey Ag, actually now that I see what's up with your problem now, maybe you should adjust the centering of the PoA first. You should be able to "level" it through diag menus? If you level it in diag, is it level? (if its not, the top most hex nut attaching it to the motor should let you shift it to level) I'm also wondering if maybe you have an obstruction underneath? Maybe check that out and report back....

make sure the mini playfield adjustment is tight. its up at the very top of the PF and needs a small hex bit to tighten the hex screw. look for it up by the top post near the back of the PF
