Incredible! A HUO Hard Drivin Compact!! STUNNING!!! TNT Amusements

I couldn't believe the call! A man got this machine directly from Atari in 1989---it was a Childrens Wish for his son dying of cancer. He received the machine for free--he only needed to pay the shipping, which he said was $500. His son sadly died 3 months later. He didn't touch it since.
The meter has 288 plays on it. It is absolutely like new...manuals still stuffed in the coin box (like they are shipped) and all keys.
Of course it is going in my Cabaret collection....but you will NEVER EVER see this game in this condition again!!!!!!!!! Todd from TNT Amusements

What a sad story and what a bad memory that game must have been for the dad all these years. I think if I was him I woulda cried every time I saw it.

That has to be the biggest caberet I have ever seen! Never though of refering to one of these cabs as a mini, it's easily the largest game I own.

Nice score, and I hope dad is relieved to have it gone. Cool on Ataris part to donate it, but very sad for the parents.

Its officially called a "compact"....same footprint pretty much as a pole position, except taller! It's certainly smaller than the cockpit!!! :)

It's a hair bigger than a Pole Position (sticks out further)... but certainly much smaller than the cockpit version. It's one top-heavy S.O.B. as well and at 485 it's the heaviest of games I have.

man.. poor kid... sorta hard to enjoy it isn't it?

no doubt its a great game... but sorta has a serious side that takes away from it..

Dad should have donated it to a childrens hospital since he got it free....

but no really.. great score.. ;) I would have picked it up too...

Wow, so that's what the side art is supposed to look like! I've been searching for some ever since I got mine 6 years ago. It's also rare to see the seat intact, too. Sad story, but a very nice score.

I gotta be honest, this creeped me out.

It is creepy, but what would be more creepy is the game sitting in that garage still covered up. The kid probably enjoyed the hell out of that game while he was still around, now it gets to make Todd's children happy too. I think it's a good ending to the story.

Are the sides supposed to be white? Thats fantastic.

Mine has black sides. On KLOV it shows it with black sides.

No side art on mine :-(.

Man I moved my compact down my stairs. There have definitely been several times when I felt as though the machine was going to kill me; literally kill me, as in crush me. I swear it's like moving a refrigerator with at refrigerator stacked on top of it.

I used to have a Race Drivin' as well. When I got the race drivin I thought it would make the Hard Drivin' obsolete. Definitely not the case. I did not like the other tracks or the other cars. So I got rid of the race drivin and kept the hard drivin.

The hard drivin is also in excellent shape. Aside from a lack of side art it's only about one notch between yours.

Mine also has an upholstered cushion seat.

I had the cockpit one time in my living room for about a year. It took 4 of us to get it over the threshold into the foyer. Unbelievably heavy, I imagine the 'compact's are pretty heavy too, with the monitor mounted so high.

WOW!!!! damn man nice!!!!!

wow, that brings back memories...

i used to go to the local tilt all the time.. they had one of these(new at the time) up on a 3 foot riser.. at the time it was the "showcased" machine if that makes sense...

good times, good times..

take good care of it todd, i doubt theres another one this nice in existance!
