I'm curious, as I'm not having any luck trying to find a replacement PCB for my 3 player Super Off-Road track pack, is it possible to use Super Sprint, Badlands or similar PCB in that CAB? I'm new.

...but you are pretty much stuck with Off Road.
Darn. That being the case, if I've got a Track Pak PCB that needs repair, can new chips be made/written to replace my damaged chips from a functioning track pak PCB?

It depends on the chips.

What you really need is somebody that will work on it. Without that, you're screwed.

I had a local repair guy try working on the machine. He started by replacing the power supply... When he couldn't figure it out, he sent the PCB off to a colleague of his (who apparently used to work for Leland Corp [makers of Off-Road] back in the day). That colleague told my repair guy that some of the chips were fried and that in order to fix the game, we'd need new chips to write from or a whole new PCB. Beyond that, I don't know what specifics were found in his diagnosis.

Should I get in touch with the guy who has my board and see what technical specific issues he's aware of and then pass them along to the community?

Ivan Stewart signed this Cabinet for my Birthday and it was my wife's favorite game (I think she was the one who broke it in the first place). Beyond the board, the rest of the system is in pretty decent shape. One nitro button needs replacing and the tube needs a tune up. I suppose I could get new prints for the side art be even those are just a little scratched...

REALLY want to get it playable again and appreciate all the help I can get.

OK, first, I see you keep calling it a "Trak Pak PCB"... stop, it is an Off-Road PCB with Track Pak ROM's installed on it.... small difference, but it opens up buying a working PCB with regular ROM's which is far more common.

You can buy a PCB off Ebay and swap the Track Pak ROM's onto it along with the security chip and your good to go assuming the ROM's aren't the issue.

If the ROM's are the issue, STEPH (Hobby ROM's) will be your man to burn them.
The only thing that CANNOT be made is the security chip.... so don't damage that!
As there are so many, I would work with Steph or somebody that can verify them so you don't replace good ones.

I have a spare boardset, but the top PCB is bad, I use it to store my regular ROM's on as I have a Trak Pak installed in my machine too. I've seen boards go for $15 on Ebay, so start watching for them, even if you get a bad one, it is likely one of your boards is still good and you can swap them back and forth and get a working one with some luck...

Thanks! I'll do that. Also, as I'm new, do you have any additional contact info for STEPH? I don't know that name.
