Will collectors consider JAMMA games to be grails? Will they get pissed for us "restoring" to the original game things like Final Fight, Street Fighter 2, Mickey Mouse Tetris, Tekken, Golden Tee or Big Buck Hunter.

Count me in that group that wants these, space harrier is the grail, outrun is next and then go from there.
FWIW, although their vintage coincides pretty well with the beginning of the JAMMA-era... neither Space Harrier nor OutRun are JAMMA.
Yeah. Daytona USA was my grail and I finally got some. I love Jamma shit. All of my stuff is Jamma. LionsArcade said, I totally respect the true classics. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, etc are timeless and always welcome in any arcade imo.
I sometimes get pissed when I see a game I love, thats hard to get, or really expensive that is retrofitted or whatever. Seeing some crap game in a dedicated Simpsons cab always gets the "WTF?!?"
I agree with the conversions - I don't like them, one bit. It reminds me of "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers," except in this case, it's the "Invasion of the Housing Snatchers," where innocent games are sacrificed for some cheap crap that will become a grail for few, if any souls.
The dedicated ones, sure. They actually are already more valuable, in a lot of cases. A dedicated TMNT is worth as much as a nice Vector game, pretty much. And for every rare vintage game like, Red Baron or something... there's something like a dedicated Moonwalker that's worth just as much or more.
A few of the real classics though have made the jump. Ms. Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong get infinte, timeless respect even from the Gen X'ers and keep their value.

Why not? IMO the "Grail game" someone gets has nothing to do with rarity, but it is the one game / style of cab that resonates most strongly from their childhood.
Mine is my Ms Pac-man cocktail. It's not rare by any stretch, but it is an original and every time I sit down I remember the summers at the lake, and the cheap ass burgers and dogs at "top dog" while I played Ms Pacman and Skee ball.
This is where you lose a lot of people.
I'll admit to having used the term "grail" in the past to describe a few things, but the more you look at a grail, the more you realize that the Holy Grail is a one off item that is truly rare.
