In Honor of Fixing my Pole Position

So, I hopped into the cockpit, strapped myself in and ended up getting 56,000 on my first race.

The best I've been able to hit in my PP MAMEpit is 40K so far. I am still learning all of the nuances to being an optimum PP player. When you need to shift from lo to hi, do you wait till you get to the max lo speed (ie 170KM/hr) or do you just throw that baby into hi whenever you feel like it?

My high is 61,400. I throw it in high when it sounds right.

It might be a MAME thing, but best I can do currently is place 3rd and then get the 40K high score. I'm taking the inside of turns ASAP, trying to miss the water on the road, and obviously, trying not to crash.

Even if I don't get any better, the game is timeless. I will always play it.

Nice....I finally get a PP and you have to make me green with envy over your cockpit..........

I am finally finishing the three lap race at about 46,000....not bad for only playing it for about a week or so but what am I doing wrong?

You realize that it's un-hangable right now, yeah? The backing is all fucked up. Big holes were torn into the fiberboard by whatever method the previous owner used to hang it on the wall. I would have hung it up the first day if I could have. Instead, it has become another "project". Maybe you never looked at the back? I know I didn't think to until I went to hang it. So I'll hang it when it's hangable again I guess.

Ahahahahahaha, you should have seen the roof piece. Swelled to 2x its normal size by water leaking on it from a hole it the roof I would assume. It was also bumpier than Fritz's ball sack after he shaves it with a box cutter.
