I have recently purchased an Imperial Lenel Industries "the Complete Professional ShoeShine" machine. It works (doesn't shut off, but that's another story). I'm looking for a manual for it. All of my google research has been fruitless. Does ANYONE have ANY insight on this machine? I'm trying to figure out 1) how to make sure it's shutting off when the machine runs it's cycle and 2) where/how to add the shoe polish to the black and brown sides, and which kind to add (if it matters). ANY help would be MUCH appreciated!!20231226_092417.jpg

These odd machines do not give us a lot to go on. Can you open it? If it is just timers and relays, that will make it easier to work on. An older through-hole board will also be easy. If that has an EPROM that is corrupted, that would be bad.

I didn't realize until now (to be fair, I haven't REALLY pulled this thing apart, I was hoping to find a manual or schematics online) that the "brains" of this thing are a real PITA to get to (in the black box with all of the bigger wires coming out of it). The two black boxes with the smaller wires coming out of them are lights to show which step you're on. But here's pictures of the inside top and one in the bottom where the shoeshine part is. The bottom part has another just like it, one for brown shoes and one for black.

Re: finding a manual. Good luck.

Open it up. Stuck running means you have a relay that is stuck, or a broken wire.

Those connectors are pure 1960's 1970's vintage.
