Wondering if anyone has ever repaired the Immesion pcb.
While I was testing a an extra set of Immersion pcbs last night the game crashed. Upon reboot I got a steering error.
Looked inside the cab and the led was out on one of the boards. Swapped the original back in and all was well.
The one that went bad was the one with 4 transistors. On the back side of the board there are burn marks from heat. Wondering if the transistor(s) died. From what an operator told me, those transistors go bad after extended use.
Gonna take a shot in the dark and replace the transistors. There are very few pin mount parts on the pcb. Most are tiny surface mount resistors and whatnot. I could prob replace all the pin mount parts for under $20. Worth a shot. Learning experience if nothing else.
If anyone has ever worked on these boards, please chime in.
There are 2 PCBs. Added a pic of the PCB that I'm trying to fix.
