Immaculate Twilight Zone worth $5000 CDN?
My friendly local pinball shop has a beautiful Twilight Zone that is being worked on before being sold. The price is just shy of $5000 Canadian dollars.
I've seen the cabinet in person and aside from a broken piece of plastic near the gumball machine it looks immaculate (not sure if they will replace it or not). The playfield has no visible wear and the cabinet shows no sign of damage or fade. It was partially torn down when I saw it so I haven't played it. However it gave me the chance to see under some of the ramps and such and it looked in great shape. It was privately owned, and from its appearance I wouldn't be surprised if it has never seen a public setting.
So my question to you is whether or not this machine is worth the price tag. I won't know until it's operational how it plays, but I'm going out on a limb and assuming it will be given a thorough tune up. I would expect around $4000 for a nice TZ, but is its condition and new maintenance worth 5 grand?
I absolutely love the game. I first learned pinball on a TZ and I find the gameplay ideal and the theme as timeless as the zone itself.
