Hi, I'm getting some noticeable image distortion on the original CRT in my Tron arcade cabinet. It's a Zenith CD19MXRF06. I've observed that the distortion sometimes fluctuates in sync with household appliances running nearby, particularly things like the washing machine. My first suspicion is a grounding issue or possibly some AC line interference affecting the monitor chassis. Before I start digging into the power and ground lines, I wanted to ask if anyone here has seen similar behavior with this monitor model or has any insight into what might be causing it.

You definitely have some hum bars. That a power supply issue. Probably the big filter caps in the monitor.

I can't comment on the downward curl at the right side. Have you tried adjusting the horizontal hold?

Thanks for your replies. I've already recapped the board, but I left that large cap on the right untouched. I'll go ahead and replace it too.. hopefully that'll make a difference.

As for the horizontal hold, I haven't fully adjusted the image yet since I've been focusing on tracking down the source of the screen distortion...

Here's the big Nichicon cap that I'd like to replace. I read that it could be replaced by two separate caps since this exact one is basically impossible to find. Has anyone actually tried that?

Thanks!

Power brick rebuild could help as well. New big blue caps and AC filer might clean that interference up.

I've heard of people cutting open those dual caps and gutting them and sticking in 2 caps to match it. The new caps are much smaller. Might be able to just stick 2 caps on the board depending on the size and layout of everything
