My GF just doesn't appreciate me. So, I have to show y'all...

I had a Gun Fight that I parted because it was trashed. But, when I did, I kept the coin door because of the "START" button. Well, I recently acquired a Ms. Pac Man Cocktail that had a circular hole with a cover on the coin door so I unscrewed the cover, took the START button off the Gun Fight door and installed it on the Ms Pac door. Then I soldered the wires into the coin mech. Now, when you want a few credits you just hit the "Shiny, Candylike button!" while retaining a factory look. This is cool because I don't lose the attract mode and I don't have to put the modified chip in the board. AND, it was free!!!

effing dope!! looks original man.. i like free stuff liek that too.. i guess thats why i packrat all the random arcade odds and ends i can

Can't say I'm a fan of credit buttons. Why have the coin mech if you're not gonna use it? There's something magical about the sound of a quarter traveling through all the little gizmos and hitting the coin bucket.

Agreed, I actually remove credit buttons (if present) from all the machines I pick up...

4 kids and their friends who snatch the quarters from the cup...

amen. i love the ca-chink of a quarter hitting the coin bucket.

Looks like an early coin door. They had a metal plug there but I have no idea what the original intent for that hole was. Pac, galaxians and some others used it. They did away with it on the mspac door.

It's a great feeling to be able to save a game with parts from another that's a step away from that big arcade in the sky..

You also get an extra 10 points for using a Ren and Stimpy reference in your post (see attached).

Once a bunch of kids start pushing that "Shiny, Candylike button!", you will lose the attract mode and you will want that stupid button off of there.

Don't think kids will push it for the fun of it? Ha!

Adults will push it also, gather up too many credits and walk away just as easily as kids...losing the attract mode.

I'll shoot 'em then tap the coin door to reset the maschine. I can easily undo this mod by screwing the little round plug back in.

Glad you recognized the reference. Ren and Stimpy was the best cartoon in the world.

:) Until they fired John K, then it started sucking pretty bad.

I always wondered why they had that plug in the coin door like that. Did any of the Bally pinballs from that era use the same coin door and had the start button there?

Early games had the "Start" button in the coin door. One push was one player, two pushes meant 2 players. I guess it was easier to put a bung in there rather than reconfigure the door...
