I'm psyched! - Williams IJ is coming!

I'm jealous. That's one machine I'd love to be able to own some day.

There was some sacrifice for this purchase (many of my vids) but honestly I am ok with it. I've enjoyed restoring them, played them for a bit... now its time for them to move on to other folks who can appreciate them.

Congrats on your big score! One of the all time greats! File this one under the NEVER SELL category!

You got it! I'm going to also make this my first pin restoration. The one I'm getting is near perfect, (except for artwork of course). The playfield is MINT! So I think I'm going to tear it down and have it clear coated. I'm going to go nuts on this one, gold trim... everything!

Nice.. figured you were getting something big. IJ is a pretty cool pin. I played
it at Disney last week. Get a good deal on it? Condition?

Gotta put up pics when you get it.

What is a typical price range on one of these and how does the price compare to, say, Twilight Zone? I'd look it up but Pinpedia is blocked here. Says it's categorized as an anonymizer web site. Weird.

Pics...

Here are some pics of the machine en'route... :)

Faded sure, but the sides don't look that bad. The front is pretty faded.

IJ is such a fantastic game, the modes, the multiball, the ramps. Probably my favorite game.

Nice. Your side art looks much better than mine. I should replace mine but am not looking forward to that project.

Mike Chestnut does great work on the brass plated parts, FYI. PM me if you need details.

Thanks! Once I get it in house I'm going to go over it with a fine toothed comb to see what I want to do. So I'll likely be interested in what Mike has to offer.

Congrats on an awesome game...

I had lots of fun restoring mine and even more fun playing it after.

You do realize that if you do clear coat it as you mentioned the cure time is like 6 to 8 weeks. That's more time you won't be able to play it.

Yeah... that's kind of a drag... but it will give me time to refinish the cabinet and get other things cleaned up and polished. It takes me forever to get things done these days ;)

+1 for Mike Chestnut, everyone I have come across who does any sort of plating swears by him and I've seen some of his work first hand and it is very nice.

For IJ mods you should also check out Andy from the UK on ebay:

My friend just picked up an IJ from Detroit for $3000usd and paid $200 taxes to bring it back over to the Canada. Cab had a bit of fade but it should clean up real nice once he is done with it.

When does this bad boy arrive? I've been looking forward to the pictures all week!

I know right???? The suspense is killing ME too!!!

December 7th is the date!

Retro: Congrats on a long awaited "wish" pin! December 7th probably can't get here soon enough!

Mike, your IJ looks great!!!

I've been chomping at the bit for one too, and by freak chance a buddy of mine mentioned that he has one that he bought brand new, and is selling her to me for $2,500!!! HUO for a great price!! I think I'll be driving to his place in a couple weeks to pick it up. The downside is that it's a seven hour drive and I'll need to rent a van...

Now if I can find a friend who bought a Cirqus Voltaire...LOL!!!
