My dad launched a chain of toy stores in the Central Valley during those years - Simon Sez Toys. Modesto, Visalia, Fresno and a few others. I lived in Modesto, but would go to the Fresno location with him. And from there, I'd hit Arby's and then the local arcades. Space One was one of them. Good times.

Nice score on the Tempest! If that's the only one they had at the arcade, I definitely played it before you did.

(Oh, and the video game crash killed the stores. )

The side art on Tempest is so awesome. Tempest was the first game that got me really interested in arcades. Nice find and nice story!
