I'm not in over my head, yet...

I'm speaking mainly about my numerous projects that I've decided to take on all at once because I don't have room to store anything to be worked on at a later date.

3 Nintendo cabs, 2 red tents, Dig Dug cocktail all on hand and sitting in pieces out in the open in my basement. And now I have a lead on a really nice Centipede cabinet to replace my old and busted Centipede cabinet.

If you have the means, then stop yourself
While you have other projects to finish first.

Fix up what you have, decide what to keep
And what you could let go to fund other purchases
Down the line.

This is one "hobby" that can spin out of control
without a greatly defined plan of action.

There have been times when I've had a couple projects going on at once. But this is my most ambitious undertaking to date. It's more of an experiment really.

I have room to put the games once they're finished. Finding room to hide the others while doing a single project is the problem. But once they're finished, I'll likely put something up for sale (or trade) to further fund the addiction.

My deadline is Thanksgiving when my wife's family comes to visit. It's going to be close.

Haha, good advice. I'm around 20 myself, down from nearly 40 at one point. All told I've probably owned 60-70 (not at the same time) in all my years as a collector.

:O 20 cabs? where do you even put them? I've got 2 and I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of room

To be fair, 6 are cocktails, 1 is a pinball, 1 is a jukebox and a couple are in the garage getting ready to go away. Half of them are in "my" room in the basement, lining the walls. They don't all fit, so I've just started sticking them where ever they'll go in the rest of the basement.

Actually, I just recounted. That would be 22 with the ones in the garage. Ok, someone stop me before it's too late.

lol If you got the room I say go for it! I don't have the room, and on top of that I don't remember playing a lot of arcade games so even if I had all the room in the world I'd only snag Dig Dug, SI, PC10 (NES games are so much better with arcade controls), Bosconian, Rally X, Virtual On and Afterburner II

He He. I got 31 cabinets that are mine plus another 15 or so that belong to someone else; most of them on display and operating. I have the entire basement set up as my arcade plus 2 56" rear projections with a Wi and an X-Box connected. I am pretty much at the end of my short list; the only thing left at this point would be a Q-Bert. There is a small overflow set-up in the sun room with the machines that simply cannot make it down the steps.

My biggest issue is not space, it is the electrical demand of so many of these machines. I WILL have to rewire sometime in the next 6 months.

Nice taste! I have the Dig Dug, Bosconian, Afterburner II, SI, and my friends PC10. Just recently traded my Rally X for the Bosconian though.

Definitely.

I'm a bit off my plan at the moment. I think I need to only pick up new games if they are 100% working, since I have 4 or 5 that I need to get running.
