So yes, I got a Tapper....and I got it running after rebuilding the chassis (thats Buffett), the suitcase (yah me), and a myriad of other various repairs. Having never owned Tapper, nor any MCR games, I look around and am wondering why I have two wire sets and plus up above the power supply (also rebuild: again thanks Buffett) just sitting there. Odd. Anyhow power up. Bam. Tapper! No sound. WTF? Lightbulb....I think I'm missing a board.

So can y'all confirm: Tapper has a main pcb board set (per what Im reading in the manual here) and a sound board? If so, anyone know where I can get a replacement? Thanks a ton!!!

I was just looking at this for my spy hunter and thought I had a spare amp board. However, there are at least two different amp boards which is what I think you are missing. MCR 2 dual power amp. and mcr 3 dual power amp with mixer.

Here is a pic of what you need. as far as finding one, post in the wanted and look for part outs etc.

So to clarify: Does Tapper only use an MCR-3 or a MCR 2 and a 3?

I believe it uses mcr3 but maybe slight different then spy hunter's mcr 3 with mixer double check the manual. There are a couple threads about this here and the general consensus is you should be be able to use a spy hunter one as a replacement but may have to change the wiring slightly for tapper.

google is your friend.

Thanks, though it looks like there is some debate on how close the Spy Hunter board is comparative to Tappers. Also it looks like you could use a Spy Hunter board with an adapter? I'm hoping to find the correct board, but I did pm both of the guys in the thread ( so thanks).

So I have a few inquires in the works. Thanks again KLOV :) This said, from this thread:

I may pick up this amp. Question: When we talk about converting it to work with Tapper (from Spy Hunter), is it just a different pin out on the plugs? What exactly is different about Spy Hunter's AMP? Thanks!
