Super excited for this and glad I am able to test it before official release! Anyone Neo Geo Pocket fans out there have anything specific they want me to test? Those out there hoping for an SD based flashed cart for the NGP will be very happy with this, I think :)

I got a flash masta when the latest one first came out and honestly have only used it a few times. Partly because I have a hard time with the nonlit screen.
Also because with the flash masta I had alot of games that did not run correctly with graphic glitches, and even some games had delay almost like loading. I put it away because the software was new and figured it would be fixed later and check it out then. Never got back to it. :(
That would be my main question is if it had any of those issues.
But really the NGPC needs a backlit screen replacement, I want to play it but cant.
Love the d-pad and overall feel of the system, just the damn screen.

Never had any of those issues with either the old or the new FlashMasta. Might be worth emailing Flavor to see what's up. Perhaps bad roms, really?

As for the screen, SainT said he may look into the possibility of a replacement screen project, but I wouldn't count on it, honestly. My primary NGPC had a front light installed and it works well enough, though the colors get washed out quite a bit. But at least it makes it playable.

There have been a few issues crop up in testing so far, but SainT has been good about tracking them down and fixing them. Overall, it's been working very very well so far. The only lag issue I've found seems to be specific to the NGP (not the color) and only when playing 2P via the link cable. And only on one game. I'll be testing a fix for that later tonight.

One of the other testers reported graphical issues in the menu system (not in any games) but again, only on NGP, and only NGP systems with a specific BIOS version. I believe SainT is looking at that now as well.

Good to see the net working the way it should. I mentioned this elsewhere, Mattroid was interested, checked it out, helped SainT out and is now beta testing. When talking about projects leads to actions, we all benefit.

This looks pretty neat, I've been following it for a while.

I have the FlashMasta, but haven't used it too much due to save breaking on many games & not all games having patches to fix.

There are a fair number of NGPC games that are expensive these days, and you can't play the English fan translation of CFC2 unless you have a flash cart of some sort.

I tested the DC link tonight a little bit - seems hit or miss on some games. For example, linking KoF R2 to KoF 99 doesn't seem to work, but linking SvC MotM to KoF 99 does work. My original R2 cart links fine (as expected). Could be the rom I flashed, not sure. Planning on going through as many of those as possible to see what works and what doesn't...not that anyone is really going to use that thing these days lol

I also want to test the wireless link thing...anyone happen to have a completed Card Fighters Clash 2 save I can use?

It was like over a year and a half ago I got the flashmasta. I was in on the first batch of 10 or whatever so all the initial bugs were the problems I had I think.
Sounds like it still has problems with the saves, I remember that being something that really pissed me off.
It was expensive back then(like $90), wish I had never bought it really. And with alot of saves still not working means I still wouldnt want to use it. Feel like I got took honestly.

Weird. I have one of the old ones with the linker as well as one of the newer ones from the last year or so with the USB port built in... Never had any issues. Though to be fair since it could really hold one or two games anyway, I only really used it for translations or expensive games I didn't own.

Any specific games with save issues you recall that I can test with this new cart? I'll look around online too, I'm sure there are threads about the issues someplace.

Honestly I dont remember. Yeah exactly, I have most the carts I care about but was interested in translations too.
Really I was planning to do a front light and then came to the reality that i would hate how it looks so put the system away to think about it later.
I wish he would just skip this and move on to the jaguar. :)
really looking forward to that.

The front light is better than nothing. I've had mine done for near 10 years now and wouldn't look back. Def hoping for a full screen replacement someday, though.

Anyone want to look into how much it'd cost for a custom screen to be made for this thing? :D

Can you post some pictures of your NGPC with the frontlight?
