I'm having an issue with the sound on my Pacmania. Can I please get some help.

I just purchased a Namco Pacmania PCB from someone here and received it in the mail yesterday.
To make mention too I am using a Jamma harness wired to play a Galaga 88 PCB.
I plugged the board up today and the board powers on and the attract mode works fine with very crisp sound.
The issue that I am having is once the game is coined up and you hit start and select the board in which you want to play the sound during game play is staticy and just sounds like distrubance noise.
Once you die though you can here pacman die normally, but once the game begins again alls you here is the grainy static.
Can someone help me fix this issue and tell me why this is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Shawn I was reading the difference in sound between regular galaga, pacmania , and galaga 88..so far I see galaga is 1 channel sound and galaga 88 is two channel. pacmania sounded great in my std galaga cab using a jamma to galaga adapter but didn't work properly in a cab that was probably 2 channel sound.. hopefully someone else chimes in here with some help.(anybody have experience here????)

In many of the posts I have read, most of the problem is with the "can" type caps. They are actually call electrolytic caps. Look for one of the caps to have a bulge or other physical damage.

pacmania problem

You mentioned a cap issue on the board.
Where exactly should I be looking for this elongated cap on the board?
Is this usually an easy fix or no?
What is the cost looking like to fix the issue?

pacmania pcb

I checked the board and didn't see any blown up caps.
Any other suggestions?
I can take a picture of both boards tomorrow afternoon if that will help?
Im currently at my parents house and don't have access to a computer so I can get the photos out tomorrow.
I've been posting all of these messages through my cell phone.

pacmania PCB issue

I've been told of a possible audio cap issue or a voltage issue in the board through riptor.
im going to try the suggestions riptor gave a let everyone know of my findings when I do.
if anyone else has a suggestion as to what the issue is please let me know

I would also look into this as the sound works some of the time. It could be putting audio out

single channel
dual channel
I would look close at the wiring on the other cab. It works using std galaga cab and sound doesn't on the other cab.

What is the other cab. and how many speakers does it have.

The cab I couldn't get the sound to work properly in was a dynamo z back cab that had previously been running a capcom ( marvel vs capcom ) setup..I am now running MK3 with no sound issues.. I'm just thinking its a sound conflict in his current cabinet as well. really don't think its a board prob at all because his problem is identical to same prob I had.

pacmania pcb issue

I just have one cabinet.
I have a standard jamma harness set for speakers on pinout 10.
To be 100 percent sure I also wired pinout 11 which is for the dual speaker and still got the same problem.
The harness is also wired to play galaga 88 as well as splatterhouse which are the same namco boards with the same wiring pinouts and am having no issues with the sound being sharp and crisp.
I've never had an issue with the harness of a jamma board and have never heard of sound issues just during game play.
Either the sound works 100 percent or it doesn't work at all.
Oh I also checked the 12 volt and 5 volt power coming to the board, from a suggestion from Riptor, to see if there was voltage fluxuations when the static occurred, but even when the static occurs the voltage to the board is steady and does not fluxuate.
Im scratching my head here.........
Anybody else have suggestions here?

Alright.
Here are the pictures of the board.
I tried getting an overall and then sectioned each side into 2 photos.

Tested caps...OK Verified roms...OK Poked around with logic probe and found one of the two TL084 op amps were bad. Replaced the 084 and the sound is back crystal clear. Very strange how attract mode was clear but in game sounded horrible. I guess its only using the one channel in attract mode.
