I'm driving from NH to Boston. What's the best arcade in the Boston Area?

I'm only interested in arcades that have 80's games. I'm catching a game at Fenway, but have all evening free.

The next day, I'm going to Funspot in NH.

So, where else should I go to game in MA or around Boston?

Thanks!
h

Appolo has the best *playable* collection between Boston and Funspot, but he's not on here, and is on Vacation.

Nothing in my house is really playable... most of my minis are backwards, facing the wall for testing boards/parts :)

Aren't there any public arcades anymore? :(

Well, I guess if Appolo is on vacation, maybe he wouldn't even notice if I played his games...

And Mark, I don't mind turning your machines around to play them. I'll even turn them back when I'm done! Also, I just bumped your other PCB thread.

Anyone else have any ideas?
thanks,
h

There's Salem Willows, and there's some arcades up at Salisbury Beach... there's a small arcade in the student center at MIT... a reasonably sized (but poorly maintained) arcade at 'Lanes and Games' (bowling alley) near the Alewife redline T-stop.

Can't remember the last time I actually played anything other than at people's houses.

as mark said, salem willow's has some stuff. aside from that, i don't know of any other real arcades in the area at all. you might have a shot finding something in the hampton beach/salisbury beach area. i think there's a small amusement park there with some stuff. don't know if it's still around, though... i haven't been there in around 10 years or so.

Any news on Good Times reopening? Or is that a pipe dream? I think they had a big sale didn't they? Man, without Good Times and Somerville Lumber (yeah, I'm old) I can't imagine anyone wanting to go to Somerville. Unless they want to get lost. :/

I know Jillian's is (un)dead. (Still open, but they yanked all the games out a few years back.)

There's Boston Bowl, down by JFK. Good selection as I recall.

How about that arcade down in Chinatown? Don't remember it's name. IIRC, it was full of fighters, including Karate Champ!

The assets of Good Times did get auctioned...
Nothing left at Jillian's since they put in the bowling...

The arcade downtown near Chinatown's been gone for a few years.
