So, my Pac mini stopped working.
The old, flukey plug on it sent a huge spark out. Fix: replace it with a new plug. Except that I got one of these plugs with color-changing LEDs inside, which are supposed to indicate that everything in the plug is wired correctly. All good: green. Red: something wrong. Red & green: something wrong. No LEDs lit: "Open Hot, Open Neutral, or Hot & Ground Reversed". Since I'd never replaced a plug before, I figured it would be a good idea to get one that'd show me what was up.
After replacing the plug, it glowed green. Game came right up. Cool. Fine for a month.
Then, one day, plug it in...no LEDs lit on the plug, at all.
I'm wondering if the cord - which I thought might've been failing all along - had finally developed a short or break of some sort. But, given what a "No LEDs lit" scenario meant, I didn't want to risk turning on the machine.
For the hell of it, I found correct replacement fuses and installed them. Plugged it in - still no LEDs on the plug.
*deep breath, last resort* I switch it on despite what the plug is telling me. Game...comes right up. Fucking plug!
(Also discovered something kinda neat in the process: the Pac board inside the mini cab matches the serial number carved on the cab in the wood.)
