Seriously.

Here's the story. I got this Galaga and flipped it to a friend of mine. It worked fine when I got it, but the marquee light didn't work. Complaints ensued and of course, this lead to the discovery of a hacked power supply replacement job. After several failed house calls and hours of work, the game has ended up back at in my garage for a complete overhaul... unless I can work a trade.

The game is complete, the MPU boots but has no sound (sound was working before I put in an arcadeshop PS kit, which didn't work and I had to resort to putting back the switcher that was already in there back in, which turns out was just wired incorrectly). Game has 4.4V throughout, though it should be 5.2. Game starts and plays, but occasionally shows garbage near the sprites and will reset if left on for a while. It will need to have the MPU thoroughly cleaned, and possibly have the sound amp replaced (if that's what's wrong with the audio). Monitor is fine.

Cosmetically, it's not bad (see pics). Original side are is a little scratched, but not torn up. Control panel and bezel is really sharp. Wood is not water damaged.

What I'm offering - I will trade you this Galaga (plus cash) for a Galaga that is working 100%.

I'm confident I can fix it, but it will take time, patience, and money that I'd rather just throw towards working some kind of deal. Just kind of want everything to be said and done at this point.

PM me if you're interested in swapping your Galaga for a semi complete project, plus the cash to finish it. Located in central Long Island.

Morning bump. As I haven't touched the thing yet, I'll throw in $300 if you swap with me (you can BUY a Galaga for that much). Really looking for the convenience factor on this one.... Thanks,

Yeah, you could buy a 100% guaranteed working, gone through Galaga PCB set for about $150 and have one heck of a game there. The cabinet/art/bezel is in great shape compared to most unrestored Galagas.

For 300 you can buy the guts out of one and Just stuff it into your cable.
The galagas out on the west cost seem to be a bit more beaten up unless they been restored.

Haha, yes, by "tearing it up", I mean I'm just gonna go all out and fix it up :)

Not parting this one out - it will either be fixed or go to someone who will fix it!
