Thanks to Bryan at paradisearcadeshop for letting me try out these new led pads for IL translucent buttons.
I have been looking around for these for awhile and Byran had great selection, great pricing and then the only way I've ever seen to illuminate these buttons.
I decided to change out the white leafs in my Asteroids Deluxe with the clear IL translucents and I installed my own x-arcade microswitches, as these are my fav switches for playing AD, in particular.
After soldering all the connections on the led pad to get a white light...it was BRIGHT, REALLY BRIGHT! So bright, that it was actually painfull to look at, especially since these buttons are perfectly clear. I tried to diffuse the light but nothing looked right.
So I mounted just one led at the bottom of the AD control panel and it gives a nice, warm glow, not super duper bright but this is the effect I really wanted.
I will be posting how the yellow IL's look in my Gravitar CP soon.
I will also show how I can illuminate the translucent leafs I've installed in my Stargate CP soon as well.
I am not the most experiened with soldering, I must say these things are tough, they took the extra abuse of my solder noobieness very well, they still work!
Thanks again, Bryan!
