Hi guys. I need some help.

I bought a real nice Ikari Warriors cabinet this past saterday. Everything worked well before and after the move but a day later weird stuff started happening. One of the rotary sticks got flakey (investigating that in this thread) and while investigating the rotary issue the machine stopped accepting coins (although when I hit the coin switch, the coin counter still ticks up and the screen flickers slightly, so that is confusing).

This got me looking at the connector and the wiring.

Here's my board

It's a non-jamma board with an SNK extender (non-jamma converter of some kind) as described in the ikari manual.

Looking at the wires going into the connector, I found that the two wires going to one of the +5V pins were broken, and that particular pin was not connected to anything. This is bad, right? The game still ran fine, but the extender card was burnt looking, swollen, and hot to touch on the power side.

What damage could this have done to the game board? It still seems to run fine (not plugging it in until I fix the +5V wire, but it was running fine for awhile).

Before investigating any of the other issues, I want to get the +5V wire fixed. Hunting around on here, I found out how to dislodge the pin out of the connector.

Now I need a replacement pin. How do I go about figuring out what kind of pin I need? I took it into Radioshack but they couldn't help me. I could really use some help. This is the first time I've had to troubleshoot a game at this level.

Well, I fixed the broken +5V wire by tieing it back to the screw terminal on the power supply (although I ordered a bag of split pins from Mike's arcade which are on the way and are what I think I would need to fix the problem properly). After reseating the connector and extender card, the coins were working again. To be sure it wasn't related to the +5V I disconnected the new wire from the screw terminal and the coins still worked. Must have bumped it when I was messing with the rotary issue I'm having, cause after everything was reseated it was fine again. What a relief.

Hey I have this exact cab! With that wierd adaptor, is that specific for this machine? Can u use other game bords in this cab?
