Ok this is my first ever cab that I bought from the thrift store and i only know about 3 days worth of reading on the net and forums.

I got a decent looking ikari cab, but the power cord was shot to hell, so i wired up another power cord and turned it on. It came on and worked but then gave me a rom1 error.

I took the pcb out and tried to look for loose chips, i tried to pull one out and ended up breaking 3 legs.

I tried to just plug it back in with the 3 legs broken, but all i got was white screen on power up. it would start out black and then get slowly bright white.

so i went to radio shack and got a blank rom chip, cut the legs off of that and soldered them onto my broken ikari rom chip.

I plugged the repaired legs chip back in, and now when i turn it on I get a ON black screen with horizontal lines that run up and down, kind of like when a tv is on the wrong channel for a nintendo or older game system.

What the hell did I do?

you should use that blank rom chip to burn/write a new correct one, instead off cut it's legs for the broken one.

I dont have all that equipment to do the buring. Plus this wasnt one of the main ROM chips, it was a much skinnier one that is on the back of the 3rd board.

Does each of the 3 control something different?
