I just got my Ikari Warrioirs project 99% done and have been playing it a bit. Something I noticed is that it doesn't prompt to continue the game after you are all out of lives. I checked the dip switch settings on the internet and didnt see any mention of a continue feature be an opton.

I can't imagine being able to complete the game on a single quarter. I would think that the game companies would have wanted you to keep shoveling in quarters and a continue option would have allowed for that.

Is there something I am just missing that allows for continues like a ROM version or something?

A quick search showed me that apparently one rom revision allowed continues and another doesn't. They are in the mame set.

Bah. The internet isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Both the game manual, and MAME properly document the dipswitch that controls if continuation is allowed: dipswitch bank 2, position 8.

OTOH, as pointed out, there's a chance you have a ROM version which doesn't allow continues at all. I'd guess the chances of that are small, though.

EDIT: This page get's it correct: http://www.solvalou.com/subpage/arcade_dips/I/ikari
What's the source (URL) of the dip info that doesn't have it?

My Ikari Warriors boardset doesn't allow continues, even when the dipswitches are set according to the manual for allowing continues; which is okay, since I don't want the continue option anyway. And it can be beaten on one quarter; I've done it many times, as has my friend Corey (he can also beat the similar game Heavy Barrel on one quarter).
