Had a service call for one of these the other day. The game wouldn't even boot, so I pulled the board, and found that the positive terminal of the CR2032 battrey came unsoldered. I soldered it back on, then fired it up, and all I get is this CMOS error 61. I did not measure the voltage of the battery, but if it is not the battery, what else could it be?

Thanks,
-Mike

Open the door, push the little white button next to the power switch for a few seconds until 61-1 displays, close door, turn reset key and hope it clears... If you get stuck in the 61-1 loop, you will need clear chips (And then replace the battery while your at it). Clear chips are approx $12 shipped, battery less than $4, if you don't have a rest key, grab one on fleabay or ask on NLG, a nice member may give you one :) (I gave away my last few spares)

Yeah, if you can't clear the 61, you most likely need a CLEAR 123 chip and if you have a bill acceptor, you'll need a SET 90 chip to reactivate it.

I have a source if you can't find one on NLG...

That did it.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I replaced the battery in my IGT. I got the 61 error code. Found this thread and now my machine is working perfectly.

I followed slots link (the second post on this thread). I did what they said and put in another games chip and reel chip. I got it to work with those chips. Then put in my Spin Till Ya Win chips back in. Fired it back up and PERFECT! I was pumped.

Thanks for the help!!

Error code 61 loop

Hi Newbie here. I have an IGT slot that needed the battery replaced. I replaced the battery and got the error 61. I held in the button until it changed to 61 1. I closed the door and hit the key switch. 61 error pop back on. I got on line and order the clear chip. Follow the instructions and the slot did everything n the paper. Put the game chip back in and turn on the game. I still got the error 61. Check the key switch with a meter to make sure it was working which it did. I am supecting one of the door opto is bad. I try searching for a data sheet on the sensor but it looks like they are obsolete. I found some schematics on the IGT and it looks like +5VDC for the transimitter and the receiver but the drawing I got was fainted and it is hard to tell for sure. I figure since the board has 5 VDC logic that the signal for the senor will be the same. can anybody let me know for sure or let me know if I missed something.
Thank You
Dorato

Once you do the Clear, you'll get the 61 error again. Hold the white button down until it goes to 61-1. Shut the door. If nothing happens, turn the jackpot reset key. If the reels spin and you get a 0 on the display, then you're ready to play. If you get a 65-1 or 65-3, turn the jackpot reset key so it says 63-1 or 63-3. Open the door and push the white button again. Display should go blank. Shut the door. Reels should spin and you'll be ready to play.

If you have a bill acceptor, you'll need a SET chip to turn on the bill acceptor.

I'm also getting the Error 61, I was able to get to the 61-1 once, but only once? Do I need the clear chip?

Is there a way to remove the Dollar Bill acceptor and disable it from software?
