hi i just got my 1st real vegas slot machine.its a IGT balloon bars s 2000 maybe.does any one know how to set up the pay out or can you even do that.i want it so it doesnt pay out alot.well thanks

Are you talking about making it "tight" - i.e. very few wins? Or are you talking about changing the payouts so it pays each win a lesser amount than it does now?

As far as I know, there are no menu settings for either. You'd have to change the game ROM...

My understanding is the same as Modessitt's. Payout is not changeable without replacing the ROM.

IMO in a home environment, you really don't want to tighten the odds, you want to loosen them. Nothing more boring than pulling the handle a bunch of times and winning nothing...

Well then, just set the game so all wins go to credits, and disable the cash out option. Now, money goes in but never comes out, even if they win.

Besides, unless you're just worried the kids will run off with the money, it's illegal to run a slot in your house as a profit-making venture...

You can find vendors over on the NewLifeGames.net forums that sell the various chips.

Do not ask for copies or binary files. The moderators over there (and I am one of those) do not put up with that.

I live in Ohio so PLEASE tell me your not putting this in one of the sleazy lil shops that seem to be popping up all over.

It's funny how y'all have no problem with folks selling images (burned to ROMs) that they have no copyright to or legal right to sell (as in written consent from the manufacturer). I'm sure some of these guys may be legitimate licensed techs with the legal right to possess them, but also resale?

And don't think I haven't gotten private emails offering to email me an image for a clear chip that I asked about for a "fee".

I assume y'all do it for the same reason the MAME folks don't allow ROM asking/offering - to stave off potential lawsuits - even though I'm sure somebody like Namco would have no problem suing someone for selling a burned set of game ROMs if they felt like it.

The owners and moderators cannot control what happens off the forum, but they sure can quarantine, delete, and/or edit posts... send nastygrams to users, and even temp or permaban to keep it off the forums.

Not sure about the s2000 but on the S+ there is a game chip and then an odds chip, if you pull the board if the label hasn't fallen off it should be printed right on the chip (97%, etc.). Over the long haul you wife will more than likely lose more than she wins and if you make it too "tight" she won't play it anymore.
