Hello,

I have an IGT S+ and would like to loosen the payouts. I believe I need to get a new chipset. Is there a "home" version that pays out more "generous" winnings and pays out more often?

Thanks!

Here's the list of percentage chips made for each IGT S+ game:

As far as I know, there are no 'home ROM's' - but if they make a 'Tournament' chip for your game it may be what you're looking for. I've never researched them, so I'm not positive.

The folks at www.newlifegames.net would be able to answer that though - and a search of the site may turn up the answer as well.

Do some searches on the NLG forums and you'll find a HUGE amount of information on what you are looking for. It's the absolute treasure trove of slot information from payouts to how they work to how to modify them (Toppers, progressives, etc...)...

I have the ram clear and set denom rom images if you need those. I dont have any info on the payout changes, never thought about changing it.

Great links, thanks! It appears I have an 87% payout chip in there. If I put the highest payout chip available (97%) in the machine, would I notice a difference? Where is the cheapest place to get the two chips needed?

Thanks

As RJ mentioned try New Life games, either post a WTB or just contact one of the many vendors. Depending where you are in Illinois there is a guy about an hour or so south of Chicago that I bought a machine from, he might have it. I think his name is something like "Dan's Games" or something like that.

You can fine tune the settings on an S+ to operate how you like. I had mine set up so that it would only hold 400 credits (25 cent machine), I would put a hundred dollar bill in and let someone play. That way every time they hit over 400 it would pay out in coin.

S Plus IGT Payout chip change question

I changed the payout chip from a 92% pay to 96% pay and I see no change in the payouts. Is there something that needs re set in the machine to see the new payout chip?

Right now it is so tight, it is no fun to play.

Thanks

Bob

The chip swap is all you need to do. I've changed percentages before and haven't been able to tell much of a difference. The percentage is averaged over many many spins.

Sometimes the game theme will make the machine seem tight as well. Something like a '10 times pay' has many large payouts, so to make up for it you don't win that often. When you do, the wins tend to be larger.

One thing you could do is buy a 'kit' to change the theme. The kit would come with new reel strips, glass and game chips. Slot machines are kind of like JAMMA cabinets, where you can change the game that's inside. I don't know which themes are best for more frequent wins, but I'm sure the guys on NLG would.
