Hello all. First time slot machine owner here. I got a igt red white and blue slope top slot machine. I was able to clear the error 41 but now I get error 21. I have read that the error means something with the optics under the coin comparator. I figured out how to remove the coin comparator but not the optics. I read they most likely need cleaned.

If only I could remove them to clean the optics. Seems to be no instructions or videos on how to do that.
I figured it out. Cleaned the optics and still error 21.
So when I push the white test button nothing happens nothing changes....not sure where to go from here

Replace the coin in your comparator with a new undamaged coin. Check for a jammed coin in that area as well. When you close the door make sure to lift it a tad when it reaches the frame then drop it down and make sure it latches all the way.
My door optics are completely gone. Can't find any wires out of place except one long cord but looks like it's off of a button.

Sometimes people will pull them out and bypass them.

I bypass the optics but leave them in place. Your best to head over and see the fine folks at newlifegames.com. There are write-ups regarding bypassing the optics from inside the cabinet behind the dbv.
You could also try holding the white test button for three seconds and then turning the reset key.

Yes I do. I've got a new nickel in the coin comparator. Led isn't lighting up but I think that's because of the error state?

There is also a sensitivity adjustment on the comparitor. A small screwdriver is needed.
I have seen that adjuster but since the machine is in an error state no power is applied to the coin comparator correct? No power means the magnet that pulls the diverter to direct the coin to the hopper is not moved so it directs to the coin output my default?

Thought I would give an update to this. Took apart the hopper and found the knife needed adjusting as coins were jamming. After that I found that the optic door sensors were removed and the wiring was spliced into the single two pronged connector. I found that once I unplugged and replugged the connection it was the same as opening the closing the door. Once I figured this out I just worked through the issues with help from newlifegames and facebook group for igt s+. It is now taking coins and playing. Just need to do a clear reset to re-enable the bill validator but other than that works great.
