I don't know about this exact brand, but this type of setup helps immensely, especially with uprights. The last time I did a mass game move the moving company used them and it looked absolutely effortless, every game made it out the narrow door and in the truck with no problems. There's some great physics at play and it's also the best way to keep a game stable. Maybe everyone knows about these already, apologies if so, but I haven't heard them mentioned before here and felt it was worth mentioning since we have this whole section now.

Forearm Forklifts! These things definitely help out. I haven't moved arcade equipment with mine, but i have helped tons of friends move with them and they grossly improve the lifting capability of any large object.

Get it girl!

I was looking into something like this.
I've got to get my games down 10 stairs, with a tight 90 degree turn on a 36"x40" space (there is a doorway to back into) as soon as I enter the door. This takes at least 2 people, a lot of patience, and usually a bump/scrape of the wall or game.
Some reviewers claim a similar product, "Shoulder Dolly", is better suited for stairs.

Edit: The "TeamStraps" above look just like the "Shoulder Dolly", for half the price. I guess I'll give them a try.

Can anyone provide a good first hand review of each? I have roughly the same type of move as Jonny.

Thanks.

I'm interested too. Have the same move except two flights as described with no doorway to back into. All muscle since a dolly can't fit around the corner.

I used Forearm Forklift last summer to move a Stern Striker Xtreme pinball up a stairway with a tight 90 degree turn without a landing -- instead two 45 degree triangles. This was the perfect solution and almost easier than using a dolly. The only risk was keeping the straps positioned; they did try to slide out from beneath the machine.

I've never tried moving a video game, but I think it would be WAY more unstable because it's so much more top-heavy. I've never tried the shoulder version; it would be nice to have your hands are free to stabilize the machine, but it looks like it would be very unstable because it supports the machine in one place with one strap.

Overall, recommend. But be very careful especially if you're taking stairs.

Hope someone tries this out on an arcade game. It would be interesting if it works!

I don't know what brand I have, but I purchased a set from Amazon a few years ago for roughly $30 and I and I can say without a doubt it may have been the best $30 I've ever spent. Since then I've helped with two moves and used them to lift every couch and appliance in the move. I even had some of the ladies give it a try and they were shocked they could move heavy stuff. I haven't tried to move games with them, but I've moved a large refrigerator and a huge (400lb+) solid wood entertainment center with relative ease.

I loaned out my straps to someone who moved a while back and he immediately went online and bought his own afterwards. You guys who are on the fence about spending $20 to $40 for what seems like such a simple product are kidding yourselves :001_sdrool:.

Well the height that you lift the object is determined by you so lifting it just a few inches off the ground should help. We had no problem with a large fridge a while back since we lifted it just a bit.
