I'm bored so bear with me here...if you were to suddenly become a game designer for some arcade company, and they gave you free rights to do what you wanted to create a game, what would you make? What theme, how would it play, what controls would you use, etc.?

I've always wanted there to be a cockpit game whereby you're driving a van through a city killing and blowing up as much crap as possible. I'm talking windshield, side and rear windows, and rear-view mirrors. You've got machine guns, rocket launchers, a mine layer, anti-aircraft guns, the whole works and you can kill crap in front of you, beside you, and behind you. The cops, national guard, eventually USMC are chasing you. You're getting points for killing citizens, women, babies, foks in wheelchairs, dogs, hamsters... You get the picture. The soundtrack is blasting Ministry's "Jesus Built My Hotrod" in your ears.

Games is games.

I want a Paul Bunyan mario like arcade game with mini games between levels that short versions of classic arcade games (like tapper, pac-man, rampage, q-bert)

I want a Scooby-Doo Pinball Machine. you would have to explore different areas with your ball (haunted amusement park, Museum, cotton candy factory, etc) to reach multiball. you could also do a Disneyland Pinball machine where you have to explore the park.

When the newest tron movie came out I envisioned a new light cycle game. Technically the game could also be any other vehicle game as well. I envisioned it as a cockpit game ideally with multiple players. The unique thing about the game would be that it would have cameras in each cockpit that would kick on when in near enough proximity to another player. So if you were next to another player you could turn your head to the side and see the other players face in the light cycle next to you. Of course they could look and see you as well. Of course the game would need to either have front, left and right screens or a wrap around LED screen to accomplish this. It would of course have shaker motors or sub woofers to emulate the feel of a moving light cycle and crashes or whatever. I would also think ant some discreet blowers whipping streams of air at/past you would enhance the experience and give you the real life feel and sense of speed. Add lighting and awesome sound and I would think it could be pretty easy to become immersed in this world.

I think you'd have to completely change the game to make it something people would play, make it something very expensive that can't be duplicated on your PS3. Virtual Reality, on an epic level, you'd make a fortune.

I've always wanted to see a first person shooter Ghostbusters game. Big showcase cab, two particle thrower guns and dedicated to only the arcade. No console port version. Maybe some sort of system on the pedestal where you have to simulate sliding a trap out and a foot pedal to stomp on to open the trap.

Of course, using the latest and greatest technology so the game melts your eyeballs with visuals and gives your ears an eargasam with movie authentic sounds and voices.

The levels could be designed after the movie(s). Of course the classic ball room, slimer sequence. Maybe the courtroom with the Scalari brothers from part 2, etc...

Ok as for me i'd make 2 games that most all of you guys would prolly buy...

first one .. would be BOTH Tron Movies combined into one long story where you start in the tron world like in the original game and you battle your way thru both worlds and you watch your world evolve as you play along in a 3D first Person Shooter Style Like the Movies... the title would be " TRON : One Legacy To Another "

the Second Game Would Be a 3D Style FPS Type but more like James Bond ish..

Yes..it would be..SPY HUNTER :D but in Todays Style Of Gaming...with all the Battles and Gadgets and ALL the VEHICLES... and all the bullies and the MUSIC!

made to play just like a Good James Bond Movie while Your Driving :D

Thats my 2 cents.

Ice Cold Beer

I would do a Ice Cold Beer type skill game.I would have the regular holes but I would add things like led's ,shakers, and I would have it taller and go up and down and up again instead of just str8 up to the top hole.I would also make the board programmable to easily add custom sounds that people could add.Of course people could also use this feature to add there own unpirated music to the game.

Angry Birds.

$ChaCHING!$

The Chinese are hard at work on this as we speak

Not to mention Plants Vs Zombies, more proof that China is on the up and up - when it comes to pirated/clone/ripoff games

Personally I have quite a few games I would like to make, not anything that's a light-gun/racer game but something different, from the many other genres that are out there. One for starters is Firefly the arcade game :D

http://arcadeheroes.com/2012/03/31/...ates-10th-anniversary-of-short-lived-tv-show/

But even not based on Firefly, something like a behind the back run n' gun like Cabal or GI Joe would be cool.

I've been working on some game design documents. Only problem is I can finish those but am not a programmer. One of these days I would really like to do a couple of projects though.

Here is my response copied from the "If a KLOV'er won the lottery" thread:

I know exactly what I'd do (hobby related).

I'd commission a software company and current amusement company to create "900 Degrees" the sequel to 720. It'd have 3D graphics similar to Tony Hawk, but still the same angled perspective as the original. The set up would be the same: Skate City sessions with Parks in between, but the parks would be updated to be like the events in the X-Games: The super long ramp single jump tricks - the high air competition - etc.

The cabinet would be the exact same shape, same controller, still a boom box design on the marquee overlay, but it would look like a mounted MP3 player in the center of two speakers.

And it'd have another awesome soundtrack.

I'd create 100 units and give one each to the members of the 720 registry.

Fun to dream!
