A few pics of the inside.

I used a Jamma Harness and a fingerboard to hook this to the Switcher.

Then I bought connectors and pins and made the connectors for the Gauntlet board.

I used a stereo audio amplifier for the audio.

You do some amazing work! I'd love to see this in person. I learned quite a bit from reading through this. I need to rebuild the curved corner of the side panel where it meets the end of the control panel on my Millipede. I think that I will try the method that you described! Thanks for the idea!

Very nice, I just picked up a beat up Gauntlet cab that I am going to restore also. Will definitely use yours as inspiration. Did you put all new laminate on the cab or is that all bondo and paint?

All new laminate. And then Melamine back doors.

Hail...gorgeous work man! Very inspiring! I recently picked up a Gauntlet II conversion (original serial UR00042!) that is in very good shape but needs cosmetics: vinyl completely off one side and a bit chewed up along the other side and front. The GII art still looks good though it has the standard yellowing (ever try Retr0Brite on a CPO??). Controls all function well though one of the Atari logo sticks is pretty loose.

A couple of part questions though: where did you get your coin slot bulbs from? 6.3 V wedge base, any other specs on that to target or avoid?

As to the lube for the joysticks. I know NyoGel 779zc is the preferred and from my searches it seems like oveready.com is a decent source for it, as is, of course, Mylstar's site. Curious about your source and also if you have experience trying white lithium grease and/or silicone dielectric grease instead.

Thanks again for these detailed restoration shares!!

I picked up a near mint Gauntlet cab that was painted black and converted to High Impact Football. It was done really clean. Your thread will really come in handy in doing the de-conversion, even though High Impact is actually quite a bit of fun!

I used 12v lights in mine since I went with a switcher and made it Jamma. What you want to use is either a 44, 47, or 1847

I only use NyoGel. I buy it on ebay, it's a lot more than you get from Mylstar.

Thanks man, appreciate the tips. That ebay seller is that company Oveready. Same price on their site and here in Oregon too!
