If you could go to any Arcade in the US...

Great question ... if you are going purely for arcade goodness, then I would say Funspot. But ... if you want to go to a cool city and arcade gaming is a by-product, then Ground Kontrol would certainly be better.

Seattle > New Hampshire

Sorry New Hampshire ...

Ground Kontrol is in Portland, actually.

and i've been to Funspot, Ground Kontrol, and Crab Town USA all within the last six months and i'd take Funspot hands down.

although if i was going for the pins i'd probably take Crab Town... much better selection than Funspot and less of a concentration in "new" pins than GK.

in the spirit of things [and since i just watched "King of Kong" this morning,] i think i'll head over to the B&I for a bit and wish their machines were in better shape.

...

and as a funny side note, i'm helping out a friend's band for the next few days by taking them on tour in my van [Portland, SF, and Sacramento,] and the venue for the Portland show tomorrow is right next Ground Kontrol. i think i'll have to stop in for a few minutes.

I'd love to go meet Richie Knuckles.

+1. His arcade is sick.

I would like to go to Funspot though, too. Once the kids get older, we will go out there and go to a BoSox game all in the same trip. Ive been to The Razor, but still haven't seen Fenway.

I would go to Musee Mechanique in San Francisco or the EM arcade museum in New York (can't remember the exact name unfortunately). I don't have much more to see in terms of video arcade games, but there's a whole lot of undiscovered territory with the EM games.

Chuck E Cheese! every games a quarter and they have a Space Invaders/ Quix.
just kidding....
I go to the Funspot once a year and its great but there seemed to be more & more out of order signs last time I went.

Fortunately I'm only an hour from Funspot. Plus there are plenty of "beach cades" in the summer to visit as well.

Probably the only place I would love to visit would be CAX. Looked and sounded like a lot of fun.

I'll say that the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk arcade was actually better than expected. 2 sections of classics, and I had fun with some of the other games too. I took some pics that I need to post, but have been too busy to get around to it so far.

That is my favorite of the ones that I have been to. I would like to hit up Ground Control and that penny arcade in Colorado that was posted about recently.

I think id like to see Fullthrottles house..mostly just to play the two games he has that id really like to have in my collection some day..
he know what two..he picked them both up in the same week..:)
