A while back I bought a Mortal Kombat board on eBay, which just arrived this morning. It was listed as non-working, but I had a working board that I planned to use these new roms with. Upon doing so, the game surprisingly still doesn't work.
Every rom window is missing it's label. At first I thought the data was erased but dumping the roms shows otherwise. I've posted all my findings, including the roms, in this thread:

To make a really long story short, not a single rom on the board matches anything in MAME's database. Which means the CRC's are either off, or the roms were undumped. My original MK roms were 512K's, these are 256. The Mortal Kombat manual lists using 27010's, a 128K rom. What confuses me is that there's data in the MK roms passed the 256K mark, so how could it use a 128 (unless it's spread across it)? Hex editing them appears to reveal nothing either. Attempting to swap each rom out one by one gives different results, but none having anything in reference with Mortal Kombat. The board it came with doesn't boot with my working Revision 4 program roms either. I'm starting to think these things are from a completely different game.
I've sent them to the guys at MAME in an effort to hopefully figure this out, but I wanted to post this in a few places to see if anyone finds anything.
