Soooooo...I picked up a bit of a junker cab (with potential) for about $60 after fees+taxes, at an auction a while back. While the cab is stickered as being a Dynamo cab, it doesn't quite look like anything that I can find online...The closest thing I saw was the HS-5 (see here: http://www.drzero.org/videogames/dynamo/).

Attributes:
1) 25" monitor
2) Similar (same?) control panel, coin door and bezel to HS-5.
3) Two-piece cabinet. The head of the cabinet actually *overlaps* the body of the cabinet.
4) The game has World Rally currently installed. The head has an Atari sticker on the back near the handle.

Is this some weird HS-5 hack/chop-job? Did someone buy a Dynamo cab just for the purpose of installing World Rally?

I'm thinking about fixing this up and making it into some kind of multi-shooter/multi-driver...I could just about park my car inside of this cab so there's tons of potential whether I want to have a ton of JAMMA boards, a PC w/ MAME (maybe both :) or whatever.

Thanks!

Dynamo HS9 it's similar but split on the sides. W/ this design they were able to use smaller sheets.

The problem with the cab was that if it picked up water on the sides and soaked in a bit, they would fall apart and split right there. W/ seams it was able to get damaged by water much easier ... Otherwise it's another 25" generic cab.

Thanks! Not knowing was bothering me :)

I would have sworn these were just a different version of the HS-5. I actually still own one of these. I liked the way they looked a great deal. I have noticed that mine nearly fell apart at one point as the top was separating off the plastic dowels they used. a couple squeeze braces got it fitting back together. I still haven't done anything with it as I hate the idea of it falling apart later. But seeing how sharp they look when they have two colors of T-molding on them may make me what to change my mind. But I'd still probably pick an HS-5 over them. I think the HS-5 is sturdier and a few pounds lighter. And I also think there were about 3-5 color combinations that were factory. I don't think they were all Blue on Grey. I think the Red on Grey, and Black on Grey were factory colors. I think the Red on blue may have been factory as well. Either way, its a cool cabinet if you can find them in good condition.
