Would be interesting if it were an original cab. Have to fire off an e-mail to see if he has serial number. Bit pricey for a mame cab I am thinking.

Yeah Sega Convetacab for sure. Four game titles i can think of off the top of my head that used this cabinet style were Congo Bongo, Zaxxon, Space Fury and Star Trek. Of the first three games mentioned they were used exclusively in that cab style. Star Trek had another dedicated cab it was originally used in so technically you could say Star Trek was a conversion for this cab style. It is an original cab to one of the titles before mentioned. But whats in it now is not original to that convertacab.

Tac/Scan, Space Odyssey, Monster Bash, Eliminator, and 005 were five other titles that appeared in this style of Sega cabinet.

I think the price on it is too much x 2. I've seen working Zaxxon's not sell for less than that price.

If you like the converted game a lot or really want to restore it one of the convert-a-cab games and cabs are hard to get in your area then go for it, but try to talk him down first.

Something to look for if you go to check out the cab is that they use crap laminated particle board. If it's seen any kind of moisure it will be flaking and dissolving anywhere the particle board is exposed.

That being said, parts for Zaxxon and Congo Bongo (also called Tip Top) are cheap and you could easily un-convert it.
