Hi all,

Well, instead of creating or designing new hardware for a vector pattern generator, I was thinking about hacking some of the Sega XY code to display the desired image. Then I could just release the code and everyone with Sega XY hardware would have their own vector pattern generator.

The Sega XY built in vector patterns are pretty basic (usually a box with a few color bands). What would be:
1) a few patterns that would be nice to show (examples please), assuming I could figure out how to do multiple images (a vector pattern generator ROM)
2) If I could only do one image, what should it look like (nothing too crazy, not sure if the G08 can handle it, something basic yet complete). The single one I might incorporate into existing games.

When I did my convergence / generator redesign... I found the Cross hatch most useful. Box and cross was ok; but didn't really do much for me.

I'm wondering if a "circle" pattern would be useful. What concerned me when converging my monitor was that the image may not be linear after convergence.

Why can't we just sample those signals from a game PCB and then "play it back" to a monitor with a small device ? I've seen people use sound cards to hook them up to oscilloscopes to creat the most amazing graphics....so in theory this should be possible.....
