Has anyone done this? With the sound that comes out of these 2 games + the factory tinny speakers.. like some pinball machines, these seem ideal for a subwoofer upgrade. A small MDF box, mounted inside, with a 6" or 8" driver. Cheap amp, tap into the factory amp out (speaker level), $10 sub from Parts Express. I'm usually not for modding games, but this would be reversible. Any thoughts?

i actually has a mini sub (4") in an elclosure i pulled out of a "high end" crt cony hdtv that was bad.. that sounded WICKED AWESOME on my outrun...

I got a cheap but decent afterburner and, about a year ago,
decided to pimp it out with a $100 car stereo upgrade...

the machine was missing its back door,
so i cut a new one and mounted the sub.

i bypassed the 8-watt amp board in favor of a nice 300watt system.

i can convert it back easily, which i will do before sale, but for now
the explosions, the take off rumble and the guitar rock music sound
pretty damn excellent.

I've put subs on a lot of my games all using speaker level inputs. Works great and sounds fantastic!! Theatre of Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, Rapids Fire, Game Show, Gauntlet Legends, Neo geo, and my mame machine. Pins are the easiest because there's room underneath for the sub to sit.
