Idaho arcade name plus logo options - your favorite?

Thanks for everyone's opinions on naming the arcade in this thread:
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=237124

Ultimately, we decided to name the arcade...

Grinker's Grand Palace

The name is a combination of my son's nickname (Grinker) and Grand Palace which comes from my arcade when I was a kid, 20 Grand Palace (see my avatar). A nice brandable name with a story behind it.

I'm sure everyone will ultimately just call it Grinker's for short... and that's fine by me.

We have the domain: Grinkers.com

And on to the logo...

Which are your top three favorites in order (first being your most favorite). Your first favorite will receive three points, your second favorite will receive two points, your third favorite will receive one point... and the end we'll total up points and go from there...

1- 6C (this is my number one because the rocket-G logo itself is great for merchandise. It works good above the text name, but is something easily recognizable and meaningful as a stand alone logo/icon)

2- 3B (very clean, simple, easy to read without being boring)

3- 9B (this would make a KILLER sticker)

I also like the "Palace" name in general, paired with a rocket/space item. I don't like the ones with a castle theme, as is it seems redundant to the "Palace" name...

When I see "Grinker's Grand Palace" with some retro space theme graphics, I'd think "This place sounds fun...whatever it is!"

With a castle logo, I'm not sure if it's a restaurant or carpet outlet or... well, whatever it could be, it's not as fun.

9b - is the one that caught my attention as well, but I think it needs a little work with the "Grand Palace" text. It just doesn't blend quite right into the logo.

I'm thinking the word "ARCADE" should be included somewhere? To be 100% honest with you... "Grinker's Grand Palace" says nothing to me about "arcade"... or "games"... it could very well be some Amero-Chinese Buffet for all I know.

I really really really think you should consider some changes to the name.... even if it was just to add the word "ARCADE" or "BARCADE" ... "Grinker's Grand Palace Arcade & Brew"?

Just one man's opinion.

I like 13 but lose the word Grand and replace it with Arcade. Of course a palace will be grand, arcade palace says so much more. ;)

Are you using 99designs.com?
I used it for my Logo and had over 100 designs to choose from.

I like 4B and 10A
Make sure that the font is easy to read, especially from a distance!

Good luck,
Steverd

I have to agree put ARCADE in it somewhere. It has to have it. Without it I may wonder what it is and some might not check it out because they dont know.
Just my thoughts.

Good luck!

Hate to say it, but I agree, I think the word ARCADE should be used someplace.
I even like 'Grinker's Grand Arcade' - has a nice should to it!

I have started a few businesses over my years, so I do understand how HARD it is to come up with a good name and logo!

Good luck!

I went a fair amount of arcades in the 80s. And not one of them had the word "Arcade" in the name.

Go Bananas
Aladdin's Castle
Time Out
Flippers
Storm's
etc etc

Thanks for the votes...

and thanks for the feedback...

while the word "Arcade" wont appear in the logo...

it will appear in a tagline BELOW the logo...

something like...

ARCADE, FOOD & FUN

... take a look at my avatar as a sample

Steve, I love you man, in a non-gay appreciative sort of way for what you are doing for and with these games and will do what I can to help you. That said, I am going to give my .02

If you are insisting on leaving out the word "arcade" and sticking with Grinkers Grand Palace, I would choose logo 4B.

The logos with the castle don't fit as you are going with a space theme in the arcade. The Rocket is sorta pointless too. BUT, that little alien guy in the saucer could be Grinker himself (no offense meant to your son as I am sure he is not really a space alien or resembles one in any way) but now you have Grinker your mascot and he could be the "mastermind" behind the place offering up the specials and so on. He could be on all your literature etc. and that logo would work on a hat or shirt or whatever. Plus I like the way the word "in" is being beamed up. You could use that as part of a slogan or whatever about being beamed in to the palace or beamed up for fun or whatever. I also like the colors in that logo.

With the other logos it's kind of all over the place, castles, rockets, Grinkers palace, it's too much and too many different themes. This way the name Grinkers makes sense and it's a cool name for a little alien dude with a palace of games and he is going to beam you up or in and take you there and show you a good time and that could be your mascot for marketing purposes.

Run with the space alien theme and don't look back.

This isn't the 80's... and this arcade isn't in a mall... The idea is to attract people driving down the street, etc.

Just my opinion BTW... and we are all entitled to one, no?

Sorry, didn't mean for it to sound like I was calling your opinion wrong or something... and I guess it's a moot point now that we know he's going to be putting "ARCADE" as part of the business signage.
